Learn to Meditate

Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation Course

Sarah offers a 6-week mindfulness and compassion training course for new and beginning meditators. This course is delivered in-person, and online through Zoom.

You’ll learn simple and proven mindfulness meditation practices to grow in self-awareness, calm stress and anxiety, cultivate compassion and celebrate joy.

While these mindfulness practices have been derived from the dharma teachings of the Buddha in the Insight Meditation tradition, the teachings and practices are secular and widely applicable across all areas of life.

Benefits of a sustained practice can include a reduction in stress and anxiety, improved ability to recognise and self-regulate emotions, improved self-confidence and communication skills, and deeper, more connected relationships.

By the end of the course you’ll have established an easy-to-maintain meditation practice, and learned invaluable mindfulness tools that you can use in both your formal sitting practice and in your everyday life – where it matters most.

Classes may include some light mindful movement exercises that can be adapted for any mobility needs. For maximum benefit, you should commit to all six sessions, as each session will cover different foundational practices.

Class size is limited to a maximum of 12 participants.

"The present moment is the doorway to true calm. It is the only place you can love or awaken – the eternal present. You cannot know the future. But here and now you can create a life of dignity and compassion, a day at a time. You can plant beautiful seeds and learn to tend them with love and courage amidst the unfolding mystery."
Jack Kornfield

Sarah, thank you for your great teaching. You taught in a clear well paced manner and the feeling you conveyed consistently was a sense of quiet joy in the practice of mindfulness mediation and compassion.

I found the mediations easy to follow and I felt no pressure about the practice or homework. I felt safe in the environment you created and you were engaging.

The guided meditation helped me stay in focus. I was grateful the class was able to provide feedback on the meditation and happy to learn from the groups personal experiences.
